audioViz

This tutorial is inspired by recent animated works that utilize music along with Trapcode Particular and Soundkeys. Here, you’ll learn how to create particle-based visuals to match your audio.

I found the ocean with such light very interesting.
In my opinion may be the shine was too much but i’ts just about my personnal feeling.

I tried built audio reaction scene different…every body very clean track like just few note of piano. Why don’t people this technique to songs more…happy?(piano sounds very sad)

    Anyway thanks for all tips!

I Agree with you about the shine.
According to the music genre – piano sounds makes your work hm… More artistic? haha, i’m joking ofcourse :) It’s quite pleasant to hear but I would also go for other beats. A lot of possibilities.

      Thanks Harry!

Sorry about too much Shine. When you are doing these on the fly, sometimes you kind of lose perspective on what you are creating because you are always thinking about what to do next.

Glad you enjoyed it overall, though. If you dig this, I’ll being posting a cool new Sound Keys preset over at Red GIant People that you might like.

Note, Andrew Kramer did an interesting exploration of the same idea here:

Yes I’ve seen this. Pretty much amazing and shows the power of this incredibly useful plug-in, which is a MUST for some reasons :)

I did play around weeks ago with Trapcode Form and I used your tutorial to animate with audio. Is trapcode form SO HARD to render/preview or it’s just me… From what I’ve heard it can kill your PC, I guess a new PC should be placed at my home, not only because of complicated experiments with Form but other stuff with particles and so.

When I try to pick whip the a = expression to Output 1 I get an After Effects warning: expression result must be of dimension 2, not 1
    Expression disabled.

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Love the tutorial by the way.

    • Harry says:

That warning means you are trying to connect a 2 dimension value (x/y… like position or scale) to a 1 dimension value. They don’t match. It’s a bit vague as to how to fix your issue. The expression is right in the tutorial. Are you trying a modification of it?

    Harry

No, I am typing in a = then pickwhipping to the output of the soundkeys range. I get the exact same expression as you get in the tutorial but when I enter the semicolon and go to the next line I get the error.
