From Red Giant People, here is a self contained project with some big splashing rain drops with a time freeze.
In my continuing ‘quest for fire’, this is test #1 to create great looking fire using Trapcode Particular. This still looks a little “Vector Blur” ish, but it’s getting there. Stil tweaking.
At my meeting as “the new guy” with Red Giant last week, I took a couple days to explore the city. One of the things I did was head out to Alcatraz to explore fun times to be had on “The Rock”.
I was immediately struck by the incredible textures found all over the island. Not to turn the day into a texture exploration, I snapped a just few decent photos in an attempt to post a collection of textures from the walls of this near century-old San Francisco prison.
I shot more stuff, but you’ll see that turning up elsewhere.
Using Trapcode Particular and a Beveled stroke created with Write-On, I created this pretty, pretty flower.
Adjust the Aux System Velocity to give it more “fuzz”. Color is also defined in Aux System “Color Over Life”.
Here is a set of three Trapcode Form “flame” project with 3 different variations.
These all use Shape layers to drive the shape of the flame, which is a great way to control the flame in Form. You can even animate the shape path to make the flame move.
These two After Effects expressions are pretty simple, but they make slide show projects a breeze!! The first, “AutoZoom”, makes a layer zoom (scale) based on the in and out points of the layer.The “zoom” value, is how much it zooms. Positive or negative values will both work.
Next, AutoFade creates fades on head and tail of any clip. The transition is specified in the “transition” variable, which is defined in frames. Note: Presentation is audio only.
The title says it all. This is a couple explosion projects that I made with Trapcode Particular. Each version is available with and without the Death Star Explosion Plasma Ring.

One of the challenges when using Trapcode Form is that it is so similar and yet so different from the very popular Trapcode Particular. With Form, having a “source point” is a bit of a challenge, because position is based on the center of the shape.
I’ve set up a sample project here where the location and spherical field make the Form strings guided by a Null object, making it a little easier to control for some situations.
