Creating a station ID in Maya and After Effects

View Movie

In this tutorial, we will examine from beginning to end, how to make a short station ID, in this case for St Patricks Day. We will model some organic shapes, such as the clovers and the hat, among others. We'll use materials from mental ray to create a glassy logo for our station. We'll then focus on using image based lighting to create a nice realistic effect. From there, we'll go into After Effects to create some nice finishing touches, such as the sky background, some particle effects and butterflies, and even the grass. Let's get started!
