Born in the midwest, Harry grew up moving all over the country as the son (and grandson) of a Navy man. Settling down in the fine state of New York for his college years, he studied music and Sound Recording Technology at the Fredonia School of Music. Juggling a career that spanned from studio recording, to video editing, graphic design… he landed in motion graphics in 2001 and hasn’t looked back since.
After 6 years working in corporate, broadcast and sports post production in Detroit, he we went freelance in 2007, quickly landing his first ‘high profile’ gig at Digital Kitchen in Chicago. He later went on to relocate to Los Angeles, continuing his freelance career at places like Blur Studio, Bl:nd and more. After becoming a family man, he quickly burnt out on the LA freelance lifestyle, and took a full-time job at Red Giant.
Taking his myriad of abilities to Red Giant, Harry continues to grow his skills as a teacher, motion designer, effects artist, product specialist and tutorial author. Harry is always thinking about new ideas, techniques and concepts for the motion design / visual effects communities. His tutorial work has been viewed hundreds of thousands of times over by artists all over the world. His influential ideas and techniques have become staples of the industry.
Currently residing in Portland, Oregon with his wife and two sons, Harry does the occasional freelance job to pay off the ever-persistent debt from medical bills and life. Don’t be afraid to get in touch to say hello or say what is on your mind. I’m just a dude with a website. Don’t be shy.
