The CC plug-ins are included with After Effects and should be installed when you install the application. They are not included with the trial version of AE.

What a fantastic tutorial! As much about design as it is about skill building. Also, why have I not used “set matte” before? I usually end up making duplicate alpha and/or luma mattes or, worse yet, precomposing, when I could just throw that on and simplify my comp. Love it. I really appreciate that, with the exception of Knoll Light Factory (FWIW, I am of the contingent that believes motion graphics should cut back on the lens flares), all the tools you use come with After Effects–and yet there’s so much detail and personality. Thanks, Harry!

Thanks Andrew! Sorry about the superfluous lens flares. I keep them to a minimum, usually. But, I mainly wanted to show the expression slider trick.

Harry,
I just discovered your site via Andrew Kramer’s VCP.
I am truly thrilled with what I saw. (long live ’set matte”).
Your reel is very inspiring as well.
It’s nice to find other motion designers so I can extend my horizon.
Definitely going to tell a couple of friends and I intend to visit your site for a couple of weeks,.
Thanks again,

October 18th, 2009 at 9:57 am
Hi, where do i place the slant text, to get it in abobe after effects ???

You need to install the font just like you would any other font for your computer. It isn’t specific to After Effects, you just need to install the font.

Please, is anyone to tell me link to download “set matte” preset for after effect CS4
December 5th, 2009 at 8:44 am
It is an effect in After Effects, not a preset. It should be in the Channel section, just like in CS3. In your case, it might be called something different, and I unfortunately do not know the French term for it, but it is the 3rd effect from the bottom of the list in the Channel section.

Thanks admin, but the problem is that i can’t find this effect in my “channel section”. The same problem with> “glow”(in stylize), “fast blur” and “fractal noise”, so i can’t finish some projects needed these effects.

seriously, thank you for all your tutorials! they are super informative and help to jump start my brain on creating sequences from completely within after effects. also, kudos on using the cell pattern and ball action, as i have never found a way to utilize them.
