Thank you so much for sharing Harry. You know it’s funny most people get excited over celebrities, movie stars and rock stars, but I can honestly say that the people who excite and inspire me most are the creative design individuals like yourselves. Fantastic!
Hey Harry, you are Freelancer again now? I remember a post (I think last year) that you were move to another city to work as full time ia a big company….well, whatever you’re doing now, I hope all the best for you !! Thank you for the contribution in the mograph comunity , and sorry for the bad english! =)
Hi harry, awesome work , very nice showreel , i am asking is there any tutorial how to do this colorful wind waves comming out from the car ” Second 34″.
Thanks.
i always wonder how organic these processes are. Even though I have only been shoving pixels in AE for less then a year, I find that it’s when I stick to an idea that I get stuck. If I just let it go and see where it takes me i come up with stuff that makes me smile. When you hit the big time, like you have, can you still let it flow or do you have to stick to some predefined script some art director throws you?
Thanks for kind words. Sorry you don’t like the music. You could always turn down the volume and sing your own, like “Feelings” or “Up, up and away in my beautiful balloon”.
I’m not so sure how “big time” I am, but I do a little bit of everything. A vast majority of projects for the more “famous” studios have very specific roles, from Art Director, to the style frame artist, down to the animators. There is usually a team of people working on it, so yes.. you are a bit of a cog in the machine. So, when I go into work each day, wherever I may be, I am usually bringing a design on paper (or PDF) to life. It can be rewarding and frustrating and everything in between.
But, just because you are working at Buck/Blur/BNS/whatever, doesn’t mean you cannot take smaller jobs or create personal projects for yourself. Overall, what we do as motion designers is a pretty fun job no matter how you look at it, and we get paid fairly well if we are good at it. So, I can’t complain.
I love your work keep it up……such a nice !! I am new player in this industry so its like inspiration for me !..i cant wait to make my reel…Awesome…love it !!!
Harry can I ask you what you have to do to get permission to use any given song like for example this one you used for your reel and how much it could cost
Really rocking and inspiring reel…and about the song, come on everybody, is F**@# Journey playing there. Ask your father if you never heard about it.Rock on, always!
Excellent..very inspiring..Smooth..”eye friendly!!”..simply amazing… YOU ARE MY STAR !
by the way i like the music too..
could you please let us know about a “list” of software you used in all projects included in this reel.
OMG,i watched this i do not know how many times, each time i discover new details : BRAVO !
Thanks Trixiemay. Sometimes I do, it’s a bit all over the place. When working for larger studios like Blur or Digital Kitchen, the Art Direction is handled in-house.

Do you do all your own art direction?
